Labyrinth in the Woods

Picture
At its most basic level the labyrinth is a metaphor for the journey to the center of your authentic self and then back out into the world.

There really is no right way to walk a labyrinth. For some it may be a joyful and happy walk, for others it might be a somber and sad experience.  It all depends upon your attitude.  With a labyrinth there is only one choice to be made... you either choose to walk the spiritual path or you don't.

Quite simple.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Some days I listen to my music, some days I pray, some days I ask a question and then contemplate the possibilities.  Most mornings I stand at the beginning, take a deep cleansing breath, clear my head, and then walk slowly.  Not thinking but just listening to the sound of my feet against the earth, leaves, and rocks.

While there are a whole host of websites and books that will explain guidelines for walking a labyrinth, I have chosen to make my own.  Depending upon the day or my mood, the walk will change.

The thing to remember is that we are all on the path... exactly where we need to be. The labyrinth is just a representation of that path
